Ancient Festivals - living with locals
Welcome to my travel blog
Travel Like Local is a female-led blog all about genuine, budget-friendly travel. Instead of resorts and rushed tours, I focus on slow travel, everyday life, and real connections with the people who live in each place.
I also share my housesitting experiences — an easy, affordable way to stay in real homes and experience local life up close.
Whether I’m learning salsa or cumbia in Costa Rica, tasting street food like Lángos in Budapest, or joining ancient celebrations across Europe, I try to experience each destination as genuinely as possible — and I’ll show you to do the same.
So grab your backpack, bring your curiosity, and let’s head out on this adventure together.
What are some celebrations in Europe?
Events and traditions
How lively and valuable our festivals and traditions truly are only became clear to me when I started telling friends from abroad about them.
Anyone who wants to experience history up close can do so through the many events in Europe.
I’m a huge fan of these age-old customs myself – from the biggest annual festival in Hungary to eerie Christmas traditions in Austria and the exuberant spring celebrations in Valencia.
